NBHA's Cast Mountain exhibit, the centerpiece of the 2Million2Many awareness campaign, will be on display for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeon's 2013 Annual Meeting, taking place from March 19-23 in Chicago, Illinois.
The meeting is the largest orthopaedic meeting in the world and features the presentation of approximately 300 scientific papers and 180 instructional courses. Registrants attend symposia on a variety of educational topics. The meeting also includes more than 1,200 scientific poster and technical exhibits.
The Rare Bone Disease Patient Network is hosting “Rare Bone Disease Research – Future Directions” on September 19 at the Johns Hopkins University Medical Campus (Turner Auditorium) in Baltimore, MD.
The Fragility Fracture Network (FFN) Global Congress will be an international congress addressing the full pathway of care for fragility fracture patients. Its themes will include perioperative care, surgical treatment, rehabilitation, secondary prevention, research and policy change.
Cast Mountain was on display at the Santa Fe Bone Symposium in New Mexico on August 10 and 11.
Every year, there are 2 million bone breaks that are no accident but signs of osteoporosis. The 2Million2Many campaign’s "Cast Mountain" is a 12-foot tall by 12-foot wide installation which represents the 5,500 bone breaks due to osteoporosis that occur in the US every day. As part of the campaign, this jarring display is touring the country at various health professional and public events.
In Celebration of National Women’s Health Week 2012 and National Osteoporosis Month, National Bone Health Alliance (NBHA) hosted 2Million2Many: An Osteoporosis Educational Summit at the Kaiser Permanente Center for Total Health on May 15.
The National Osteoporosis Foundation’s International Symposium on Osteoporosis (ISO12) is the premier scientific meeting dedicated entirely to the treatment and study of osteoporosis.
NBHA’s public and health professional awareness campaign, 2 Million 2 Many, will be launched at the International Symposium on Osteoporosis.
The National Osteoporosis Foundation will host its second annual Consumer and Patient Forum, Healthy Bones, Build Them for Life,™ at ISO12. The forum is open to consumers and patients with an interest in learning more about osteoporosis and bone health.
On November 14, 2011 NBHA and Kaiser Permanente unveiled their "20/20 Vision" for reducing hip and other fractures 20 percent by 2020 at an event held at the Kaiser Permanente Center for Total Health in Washington, DC. More than 100 attendees participated in the event in person or via web conference.
