The Clinic Diagnosis of Osteoporosis Working Group will explore the possibility of identifying a new clinical basis for making the diagnosis of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and older men. The working group aims to reach a consensus on the groups of individuals whose reduced bone strength increases their risk of fracture and thus should be diagnosed with an ICD-9 code of 733.00 for Osteoporosis.
