The XLH Network is a patient advocacy organization. X-Linked Hypophosphatemia (XLH) is a relatively rare genetic phosphate wasting disorder, affecting an estimated 1 in 20,000 people. Children who inherit the disease present with rickets, severe bowing or knock-kneed legs and short stature while debilitating bone and cartilage abnormalities persist throughout adulthood, despite treatment. At present, there is no cure for XLH.
